The boys demonstrated how seismic waves pass through liquid, by standing separately.

The girls demonstrated how seismic waves pass through rock, by linking their arms together tightly.

In a demonstration of the sensitivity
of the seismograph equipment, the class
stood very still, even holding their breath,
and still saw a small amount of movement
being recorded.  The movement increased
significantly when they wiggled their toes.
